Frequently asked questions
Dedicated Server [4 Questions]

1. What is a Dedicated Server?

A Dedicated Server is hardware specially procured and assembled just for you. The entire server is used only by you and not shared with others. Unlike virtual servers, you get a full physical hardware host.

2. How do I control the server?

Managing a Dedicated Server is similar to managing KVMs via the myPawHost customer panel. Resources can be monitored and remote control is possible. A KVM console is also available.

3. Can I request specific hardware?

If you don’t find the right Dedicated Server on our website, you can open a ticket with your desired configuration. We’ll send you a tailored offer shortly. Almost anything is possible!

4. Can I change the operating system?

Through the myPawHost customer panel, you can choose from many one-click installations or attach your own ISO file.

Cloud Reseller [3 Questions]

1. What is a Cloud Reseller?

A Cloud Reseller is a company or individual who resells solutions from a CSP (Cloud Service Provider), like PawHost.de. They buy services from us and resell them to end customers, possibly with added services such as setup or management. Interested? PawHost.de offers various reseller plans for web hosting, V-servers, and more. Check our website for more info.

2. Do I get a client interface as a reseller?

Yes! All our reseller products include an administrative web console to manage your services. Your customers will also receive a control panel for managing their services. You can even brand it with your own logo.

3. Can I upgrade a reseller plan?

Absolutely. All reseller plans are scalable – you can upgrade or downgrade as needed. Additional performance can be added quickly to handle growing demand.

Hosting [4 Questions]

1. What is a KVM?

A "KVM server" uses Kernel-based Virtual Machine technology to run multiple virtual machines (VMs) on a single physical host. KVM is an open-source virtualization option for Linux that creates VMs with their own dedicated kernel.

2. What is the difference between a vServer and a KVM?

PawHost.de refers to Linux containers (LXC) as vServers. These containers use the host’s kernel and have a limited OS selection. LXCs are great for lightweight, resource-efficient environments. For more isolation and performance, we recommend KVM servers.

3. Can I upgrade my current hosting plan?

Your current plan can be automatically upgraded depending on the package. For full scalability, we recommend using our configurators (e.g. for KVM servers). Other plans can be upgraded/downgraded within their category. You can always contact support to explore options.

4. Is there a money-back guarantee for Linux servers?

We don’t offer a general money-back guarantee. If a product is no longer needed and was prepaid, you can let it expire. For incorrect purchases, contact support. If services are not delivered as expected, compensation or early termination may be possible.
